Hinthada, July 6

To enhance fish resources and boost fish production, the Fisheries Department conducted a fish stocking ceremony at Kannankyi Ferry Port in Pakhan Ward, Hinthada Township, Ayeyarwady Region, on July 6.

The event was attended by officials including U Hlaing Tun, Chairman of the Hinthada District Management and Administration Committee, district-level department heads, and Fisheries Department Officer-in-Charge Daw Maw Maw Win. Also present were township officials from Lay Myethna, Zalun, and Hinthada, along with representatives from women’s affairs and maternal and child welfare associations, ward administrators, and local social organizations.

During the ceremony, a total of 340,000 two-inch fish fingerlings were released into the Ayeyarwady River to support fish population growth and sustainable fisheries development, according to the District Fisheries Department.— District IPRD
