THE opening ceremony of the 2026 Inter-Ministry Chinlone Tournament, jointly organized by the Department of Sports and Physical Education under the Ministry of Sports, and the Traditional Myanmar Chinlone Federation, was held at Wunna Theikdhi Indoor Stadium A in Nay Pyi Taw on 1 July.
The chairman of the Myanmar Olympic Committee delivered the opening address and officially declared the tournament open. Union ministers and deputy ministers then presented honorary cash awards to the participating teams, the marching band and referees.
Following the opening ceremony, guests watched the opening men’s six player matches between the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Ministry of Electricity and Energy and between the Ministry of Labour and the Ministry of Religious Affairs.
The tournament will be held from 1 to 6 July at Wunna Theikdhi Indoor Stadium A in Nay Pyi Taw. A total of 14 men’s teams and six women’s teams representing government ministries will compete, and the public may attend the matches free of charge. — MNA/ KZL
