THE opening ceremony of the 2026 Inter-Ministry Chinlone Tournament, jointly organized by the Department of Sports and Physical Education under the Ministry of Sports, and the Tradi­tional Myanmar Chin­lone Federation, was held at Wunna Theikdhi Indoor Stadium A in Nay Pyi Taw on 1 July.

 

The chairman of the Myanmar Olympic Committee delivered the opening address and officially declared the tournament open. Union ministers and deputy ministers then presented honorary cash awards to the participat­ing teams, the marching band and referees.

 

Following the open­ing ceremony, guests watched the opening men’s six player match­es between the Ministry of Science and Technol­ogy and the Ministry of Electricity and Energy and between the Min­istry of Labour and the Ministry of Religious Affairs.

 

The tournament will be held from 1 to 6 July at Wunna Theikdhi Indoor Stadium A in Nay Pyi Taw. A total of 14 men’s teams and six women’s teams representing gov­ernment ministries will compete, and the public may attend the matches free of charge. — MNA/ KZL
