Construction of rural road in Laukkai Township completed 70%

With the aim of ensuring swift flow of commodity and saving time and money, the Township Department of Rural Development is implementing a rural road in Shiakhokkyaing Village in Laukkai Township, Shan State (North). 

 

Staff officer of the State Department of Rural Development U Saw Myint Tun, staff officer of the District Department of Rural Development U Thant Sin Tun, staff officer of the Township Department of Rural Development U Zaw Nan and staff and members of village development committee inspected the construction of a rural road in the village in Laukkain Township and instructed to meet the construction deadlines. 

 

A rural road measuring one mile and five furlongs in length, 12 ft. in width and two ft. in thickness is being built by a tender winning company with Ks. 63.7 million of DRD’s allotted funds in 2022-2023 FY and now, it has been completed 70 percent.

 

Once completed, it will benefit 626 rural people from 103 households in the village, helping them transport rural products from over 185 acres of farmland to the markets in a timely manner, according to an official from the Township Department of Rural Development.—U Soe Moe Kyaw(DRD)
