FREE real estate knowledge training and Anti-Money Laundering and Countering the Financing of Terrorism (AML/ CFT) awareness courses were launched on 25 July at KBA Hotel in Bahan Township, Yangon.
Organized by the Myanmar Real Estate Services Association (Central), the two-day programme aims to help real estate agents better understand professional regulations, compliance requirements and industry best practices. More than 300 participants attended the opening session.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, MRESA (Central) Chair Daw Moh Moh Aung explained the objectives of the training and highlighted the association’s ongoing efforts to strengthen Myanmar’s real estate sector.
The programme features lectures by Dr Thaung Kyi on The Personality of a Realtor, Dr Mya Thaung on ethics, officials from the General Administration Department and Police Major Ko Ko Lay on AML/CFT measures, and experts from the Department of Agricultural Land Management and Statistics on the 2018 Registration of Deeds Law, its rules, directives, contract law and related procedures.
MRESA (Central) has also signed memoranda of understanding with real estate associations across ASEAN and is a member of both the International Real Estate Federation (FIABCI) and the Asia Pacific Real Estate Association. — ASH/KZL
