OFFICIALS of the Department of Rural Development conducted an introductory briefing on the Model Village Project to be implemented and formed a project committee in Thazi Village, Yamethin Township, yesterday.
At the meeting, Yamethin Township Department of Rural Development Head Daw Aye Aye Win explained the objectives, processes, guidelines for forming the project committee, and the roles to be undertaken by the village community for the Model Village Project. Following the briefing, village elders and residents attending the meeting selected and formed a seven-member Model Village Project Committee in accord with the wishes of the majority to effectively lead and implement village development activities.
The Model Village Project will be implemented during the 2026-2027 financial year to improve rural infrastructure, promote livelihoods, strengthen the rural economy, and establish an environmentally sustainable model village. Six key development components will be implemented through the coordinated efforts of relevant departments and residents. — Karan (Rural)
