ACCORDING to sources, the arrival of day trippers has increased at the Hman­pya Hill, a recently popular monsoon destination locat­ed in Yangon Region’s Tai­kkyi Township.

 

The day trip to the Hmanpya Hill Pagoda and waterfall has been popular as a beautiful viewpoint on the social media and the number of of tourists ar­riving has been extraordi­narily high, with thousands arriving on weekends and public holidays.

 

“Recently, the Hmanp­ya Hill has been a popular tourist destination. People, especially young people, enjoy seeing the beautiful view from the mountain and exploring the wa­terfall. Many people visit there especially on public holidays, even we can see a long queue of vehicles at the foot of the mountain. The road is steep but the natural scenery will make you feel relaxed when you reach the top of the moun­tain. From there, you can continue exploring the waterfall. For Yangon res­idents, they can take a day trip so it has been popu­lar recently on Facebook and TikTok,” said a visitor. Yangon residents can go by the management of travel companies or by own arrangement. In ad­dition, visitors can go by Yangon-Taikkyi YBS buses and continue with a rented Oway taxi to the Hmanpya Hill.

 

As monsoon day-trip destinations in Taikkyi, Hmanpya Hill, Pantap­wint Hill, Abhoe Kyaung, HsedawU and Japan Pa­goda have received many tourists.

 

Local destinations offering natural scenery have gained popularity among local tourists, es­pecially Hpa-an is the most famous monsoon destina­tion. — MT/ZS
