THE Department of Rural Development, under the Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development conducted a field inspection to review the progress of systematic agricultural activities being carried out with revolving funds provided under the Mya Sein Yaung Village Project in Wangti Village, Mongyawng Township yesterday.

Mongyawng District Department of Rural Development Head U Sai Soe Soe and responsible officials visited Wangti Village to observe the implementation of systematic agricultural activities financed through the project’s revolving fund. He met village project committee members and local elders, examining whether the monthly financial records had been completed accurately and properly, and urging project members to further expand their small-scale agricultural activities and systematically manage the revolving funds to prevent losses or misuse.

The Mya Sein Yaung Village Project was initially implemented in the village with a fund of K30 million. At present, a total of K40 million has been disbursed at concessional interest rates to 30 project members engaged in agricultural activities, all of whom are successfully operating and expanding their income-generating activities with support from the project funds. — Karan (Rural)
