DEPUTY Minister for Nat­ural Resources and Envi­ronmental Conservation Dr Thaung Naing Oo inspected nurseries and forest plan­tations in Minbu Township, Magway Region on 23 May.

During his visit to Kan­yay Nursery and Shwetapin Permanent Nursery, the Dep­uty Minister observed the thriving rate of saplings and land preparation for upcom­ing monsoon tree-planting activities.

He met local residents in Ywathaya Village, Minbu Township, where he dis­cussed environmental con­servation efforts and the benefits of forest resources. He donated energy-efficient stoves, environmental con­servation books for the vil­lage high school library, and copies of monthly Forest Mir­ror journal. He also inspected forest plantations in Magway Township.— MNA/KZL
