BASIC and advanced youth maritime and aviation courses for 2026 are being conducted at training camps across townships throughout Myanmar during the summer school holidays.

The programmes aim to help young students develop knowledge and skills, make productive use of their holidays, and nurture future generations with expertise in the naval and aviation fields.

Tatmadaw (Navy) and Tatmadaw (Air) opened the courses on 27 April at training camps nationwide.

Youth maritime trainees are receiving instruction in naval communications, flag signalling, rowing techniques and sailing skills at camps in Nay Pyi Taw, Yangon, Hpa-An, Kengtung, Hainggyi Kyun, Heinze and Kyunsu, among others.

Meanwhile, the basic and advanced youth aviation courses are being conducted at 20 camps under the supervision of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Air), with a total of 1,044 trainees.

Training subjects include military drill, aviation history, principles of flight, airfield procedures, aviation knowledge, radio-controlled aircraft and helicopter operation, and simulator training.

Trainees are also going on field visits to air bases, maintenance workshops and air traffic control towers to gain practical knowledge of day-to-day aviation operations. — MNA/KZL
