The Colourful Scenery Image of Bagan photo exhibition was held in Yangon yesterday. The exhibition showcases the photos of Shwezigon, Thatbyinnyu, Ananda, Alotawpyae, Htilominlo, Dhammayangyi, Katawpalin, Manuha, Culamani, and Apal Yadana pagodas, Kyansittha Cave and Myazedi stone inscription, and other famous pagodas. Moreover, visitors can see the picturesque landscape photos of the Ayeyawady River, Tantkyi Hill, Tuyin Hill Ceti and Anya areas.
“Seeing these photographs in Yangon, I deeply admire the foresight and dedication of our ancient kings in preserving the dignity of Myanmar and culture. Bagan is an invaluable cultural heritage site for our country. Not only in Asia but also in the world, there is no other place where such a large collection of cultural works exists in one area. Therefore, we all need to preserve it. I have been collecting photographs and paintings of Bagan and displaying them in my company and home. Whenever I come across high-quality works or World Heritage images, I buy and preserve them. When foreigners ask about Bagan and express their desire to visit after hearing my explanations, I feel immense pride and joy,” said U Sai Wunna Maung, a collector of Bagan photographs.
More than 3,000 ancient pagodas are concentrated in the Bagan Ancient Cultural Heritage Zone, and Bagan boasts more than 400 famous pagodas and temples, including the ancient mural paintings and numerous UNESCO-recognized pagodas and temples.
