THE 79th anniversary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was held in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday, with three main events: offering alms to monks in the morning, an award ceremony for outstanding staff, and a dinner with entertainment.

Union Minister U Than Swe and staff donated alms to monks and shared merits. Awards were presented to staff who excelled in training courses conducted at the Civil Service Academy (Upper Myanmar and Lower Myanmar), as well as to winners of the December sports competitions of the Ministry.

Union Minister U Than Swe made a speech at the dinner.

He highlighted Myanmar’s long diplomatic history, its relations with 127 countries, and ongoing efforts to strengthen international cooperation and the state’s image. He also emphasized the importance of skilled diplomats, teamwork, and protecting citizens’ interests abroad.

The event included singing, performances, dance competitions, and lucky draws, and was concluded successfully. — MNA/KTZH
