MYANMAR had negotiations with the Thai authorities on the promotion of bilateral cooperation in labour affairs to ensure workplace safety and health benefits, according to the Labour Attaché Office.
The delegation led by the Labour Attaché from the Bangkok office met the director general from the Thailand Department of Labour Protection and Welfare on 9 March to strengthen the cooperation in labour affairs between the two countries.
The meeting highlighted the protection of fundamental rights, workplace safety and health benefits of Myanmar migrant workers, as well as exchanging experience in labour management and information based on the friendship relation between the two countries to harmonize the bilateral cooperation in labour affairs.
Thailand also affirmed to emphasize workplace safety and the welfare of all workers without discrimination under the law. — MT/ZS
