THE second batch of the On-the-Job Training (OJT) for carpenters specializing in the conservation of traditional stilt houses in the Inlay region be­gan a one-month course on 3 March, according to the My­anmar Construction Entrepre­neurs Federation (MCEF).

 

The programme aims to preserve regional architectur­al heritage. The opening cere­mony was held on that day in Nan Pan Village, Nyaungshwe Township. The training will be conducted across Nanpan, In­pawkhon, and Hatpone villages from 3 March to 3 April.

 

A total of 20 trainees are currently enrolled in this batch, with a plan to train up to 60 par­ticipants. During the introduc­tory session, trainees and in­structors exchanged greetings. Lead instructors – U Yan Na­ing Maung, U Than Naing Aye, Daw Phyu Phyu Aye, and Daw Pan Hanni Aung – briefed the students on essential conduct, technical foundations, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and calculating timber meas­urements. – MT/ZN
