THE Yangon Region Investment Committee has approved one new investment project in Yangon Region in February 2026, which is expected to create employment opportunities for 911 workers.
“It was approved at Meeting 2/2026 of the Yangon Region Investment Committee, held on 26 February 2026. The project is a 100 per cent foreign-owned investment in the industrial sector. The approved business will manufacture various types of polyester, synthetic fabrics and lining materials used in the garment industry, with 100 per cent of its products to be sold domestically,” said an official from the Yangon Region Investment Committee.
The total capital investment for the project amounts to US$3.025 million. During February 2026, in addition to new investment projects, there were also increases in capital investment and workforce numbers among existing businesses.
The Yangon Region Investment Committee approves, every month, in accordance with the relevant laws and procedures, both Myanmar and foreign investment projects in order to create new employment opportunities within Yangon Region. — ASH/ KZL
