THE Department of Fisheries stated that almost 9,000 metric tonnes of shrimp worth US$27.769 million were conveyed to international markets in the past ten months of the current financial year 2025-2026 beginning 1 April. Myanmar sent over 8,100 metric tonnes of shrimp worth $23.3 million by sea in the past ten months, while 815.79 metric tonnes of shrimp valued at $4.45 million were exported to neighbouring countries at the border, totalling 8,950.86 metric tonnes. Myanmar exported over 9,000 tonnes of shrimp in the last FY 2024-2025, bagging $30 million, the department stated.
