Ayeyawady United smash Yadanabon FC 2-1 in MNL

AYEYAWADY United beat Yadanabon FC 2-1 in the Week 11 Match of Myanmar National League at Thuwunna Stadium in Yangon yesterday.

 

The clash between Yadanabon and Ayeyawady, which have been the main rivals since the beginning of MNL, was very competitive and Ayeyawady took advantage yesterday.

 

Both teams launched an open attack from the start but there were no goals till the 40-minute mark.

 

At 43 minutes, Ayeyawady FC players made a big mistake in the penalty area of the opponent, thus Yadanabon team got a penalty shoot.

 

The penalty foul ball was successfully kicked by Ye Yint Aung at 43 minutes to break the deadlock.

 

Three minutes later, the Ayeyawady team found an equalizer and Yan Kyaw Htwe touched the ball into the net.

 

Both teams drew 1-1 at the first half ended. Ayeyawady were better in the second half with power play plus counter-attack.

 

Ayeyawady found their second or winning goal at 57 minutes and the goal was beautifully finished by Yar Zar Aung.

 

After 2-1 result, Ayeyawady United changed defensive play so as to block Yadanabon’s attacks.

 

The result did not change till the final whistle as Yadanabon could not use their opportunities into goals. — GNLM
