Efforts underway to convey kitchen crops from Sagaing region to other regions/states

EFFORTS are being made to convey kitchen crops from the Sagaing region to other regions and states, it is learnt. 

“Growing vegetables and kitchen crops in the Sagaing region has been pushing hard this year. It would be not only sufficient for the Sagaing Region but also delivered to other states and regions. The staff from Sagaing Region Agriculture Department is providing technology to the farmers to grow all the vegetables under the GPA system,” said U Win Hlaing Oo, head of the Regional Agriculture Department. Sagaing Region started its winter crops cultivation in October 2021 and more than 100,000 acres of corps have been cultivated so far, according to the Sagaing Region Agriculture Department. 

According to the official statistics of the Agriculture Department in Sagaing Region grows 6,326 acres of kitchen crops in Mawlaik district, 3,985 acres in Tamu district, 10,609 acres in Kalay district, 4,242 acres in Hkamti district, 1,766 acres in Naga Self-Administered Zone, 16,279 acres in Monywa district, 19,340 acres in Yinmabin district, 31,491 acres in Shwebo district, 7,898 acres in Kanbalu district, 16,063 acres in Sagaing district, 14,032 acres in Katha district and 5,577 acres in Kawlin district. — Lu Lay/GNLM
