Farmers in Yenangyaung Township were initially assigned to plant onions across 3,238 acres, but as of yesterday, a total of 3,356 acres have been cultivated in Yenangyaung Township, Chauk District, Magway Region, according to the Township Agriculture Department. Additionally, 68 acres of onions have already been harvested in the Township.
"Both onion bulbs and plants were planted during this year’s winter crop planting season, and harvesting is currently underway," said local farmers.
Officials from the Yenangyaung Township Agriculture Department are conducting field visits and providing technical support to farmers. The harvested onions from 68 acres have yielded an average of 3,687.87 viss per acre, according to the Township Agriculture Department.— Myo Myint Thu (Yenangyaung)
