Myanmar sports teams won gold, silver and bronze medals in swimming and track and field events in the XII ASEAN Paralympic Games held in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, yesterday.

 

Track and field competitions were held at Morodok Techo National Stadium Complex, Phenom Penh, Cambodia at 8:00 am and Myanmar’s Htet Htet Aye picked the first gold medal in Women’s F55 Petanque Event by beating second-placed Viet Nam and third-placed the Philippines.

 

Next, Sein Phaw garnered another gold medal in the Women’s F64 shotput event with a win over Indonesia (first-runner-up), and Cambodia (second-runner-up).

 

Law Lar Win grabbed the silver medal in the Women’s T64 long jump event while Wai Wai Thin picked another silver in the Women’s T44 long jump event.

 

Soe Wai, Aung Myint Htay, Thura Zaw, and Aung Myint Myat won one bronze medal in the Men’s Relay (4×100) metres Event.

 

In turn, Aung Myint Myat grabbed another gold medal for Myanmar in the Men’s Freestyle 400-Metre Swimming Event.

 

Next, Min Htoo picked one more gold in the Men’s 50 Breast Stroke Metre Swimming Event.

 

Next Myanmar’s No Zin and Kyaw Htoo won one silver medal each in the Men’s 200-metre freestyle and 50-metre back stroke Swimming events.

 

Myanmar has won four gold medals, seven silver medals, and two bronze medals totalling 13 medals in the XII ASEAN Paralympic Games. — MNA/KZL
