Value-added Myanmar snacks planned to penetrate China market

VALUE-added Myanmar snacks with quality packaging are going to export to China market as a potential new export item, according to a notification released by Myanmar Embassy in Beijing, China. 


Myanmar Embassy has negotiated with China Chambers of Commerce and Industry and private sectors regarding new export items. 


The items include Myanmar food snacks, juice and spice, with quality packaging. 


The items will be first introduced to Chinese traders, importer companies and the business chambers in order to penetrate the China market. 


The samples will be displayed in Beijing, Sanya, Tianjin, Chengdu, Kunming, and Changsha for their observation. They can exhibit their products free of charges. 


Additionally, virtual business matching events will be held between Myanmar exporters and China trade partners during the meantime.

At present, Myanmar mainly exports agro products, food and vegetable, fishery products and minerals. 


Food snacks from Viet Nam, Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore and the Philippines are witnessed in China market. The yearly income from exports of snack foods is worth billions. Products made in European countries, the US, Canada and South American countries are also found in the market.
