UNION Minister for Cooperatives and Rural Development U Hla Moe called on relevant sectors to collaborate, and urged departmental staff and small-scale producers to utilize digital tools to further develop their enterprises at the “Regional Digital Technology Seminar” held in Nay Pyi Taw on 12 March.

 

The Department of Small-Scale Industries organized the event under the Mekong-Lanchang Cooperation Special Fund (2024).

 

The Union minister highlighted that in today’s world, digital technology plays a vital role in national develop­ment and better public services. The Department of Small-Scale Industries is currently implementing two-year pro­jects funded by the Mekong-Lanchang Cooperation Special Fund (2024) to bol­ster Myanmar’s agro-based industries and high-quality production.

 

The Union minister explained that this regional seminar is a key compo­nent of the digital skills enhancement project. Major initiatives under this project include an online registration platform and e-commerce upgrade.

 

The Union minister concluded by urging related ministries and organi­zations to collaborate across sectors to develop Myanmar’s digital economy. He encouraged the participants to apply the knowledge gained to their prac­tical workspaces. He reaffirmed that the Ministry will continue to provide necessary assistance to ensure ongoing development. — MT/ZN
