US$ 210 million of foreign investment flows into Yangon Region during six months

The Chairman of Yangon Region Investment Committee Chief Ministr U Phyo Min Thein attended the committee’s meeting at its office in Yankin Township, Yangon on 24 July.

The chairman of the Yangon Region Investment Committee urged those present to take measures to increase investment amount in the region. Next, the meeting decided to approve six foreign investment projects to be made in Yangon Region in accordance with the Myanmar Investment Law. Total volume of the foreigner-invested projects is US$ 11.545 million and can create up to 4,868 job opportunities.

124 foreigner-invested projects and 17 Myanmar citizen-invested projects which are valued at US$ 210.360 million and Ks. 33978.966 million flowed into Yangon Region from 1 October 2018 to 24 July 2019, creating 72,375 job opportunities for local people, according to the data from the regional investment committee.—Hsan Kyaw Oo (IPRD)
