Union Minister meets with COVID-19 Clinical Management Team

Union Minister for Health and Sports Dr Myint Htwe held a discussion with the COVID-19 Clinical Management Team at the Medical Skill, Simulation and Research Centre at University of Medicine (1) in Yangon on 4 April afternoon.


The team is comprised with professors of medical universities in Myanmar.


The meeting focused on treatments for COVID-19, disease levels and transmission of the disease.


Professor/Dean Dr Zaw Lin Aung from the University of Medicine (1) in Yangon represented the team to explain treatment guidelines, preparedness for the designated hospital, future plans and adopting criteria for the positive patients to discharge from the hospital.


The Union Minister expressed his appreciation for the efforts of senior medical experts on COVID-19 measures, formation of clinic management teams at regional levels and sharing information about the discussions with the local level teams.


He also discussed modification of treatments in relation to the changing trend of diseases, sharing successful treatments with local level clinical management teams, more tests at the National Health Laboratory in Yangon with the participation of Department of Medical Research in Yangon, tests for patients, contacted persons and suspected or persons under investigation, early recognition of disease for specific treatments to the positive patients to control the disease.


The Union Minister added establishment of fever clinics at the outpatient department of hospitals to identify the infected person and control the disease.


The senior medical officials also discussed resource mobilization of health professionals and medical supplies, and treatments and transfers of the suspected patients at the private hospitals.
