MYANMAR representative Joshua Van successfully defended his UFC flyweight championship title after defeating Japanese fighter Tatsuro Taira by Technical Knockout (TKO) in the fifth round during a title bout held in the United States.
Joshua Van escaped several grappling attempts from his opponent and dominated the fight with powerful and accurate punches before stopping Taira with 1 minute and 32 seconds remaining in the fifth round. The 24-year-old fighter secured the first successful defence of his championship belt.
Joshua Van, the UFC’s second-youngest champion, now holds a professional record of 10 wins and one loss from 11 fights. — MNA/KZL
