Tree-planting event to mark Myanmar Women’s Day held in Aunglan Twsp.

A collective tree-planting ceremony to mark Myanmar Women’s Day took place in the compound of Mya Thein Tan Pagoda in Ywadaung Ward in the town of Aung Lan, Magway Region on 3 July.

 

At the event, chairman of the Township Administration Council handed over the saplings to members of the Township Women’s Affairs Federation. Then, the Township Administrator U Zaw Naing clarified the purposes of plantation of the trees. 

 

Chairman of the Township Administration Council and members, departmental officials and members of the Township Women’s Affairs Federation participated in the activities and planted perennial and shady saplings at the designated places in the compound.

 

The participants planted 500 perennial and shady saplings including teak, Pyinkadoe, Eucalyptus and other trees to make the environment clean, green and peaceful, said U Zaw Naing.—Myo Thein(IPRD)
