Township level inter-schools sports competition held in Wuntho Tsp

Wuntho, January 6

The opening ceremony of township level inter-schools sports competition was held at the people’s sports ground in the town of Wuntho, Wuntho township, Katha district, Sagaing region yesterday afternoon.

First, pyithu Hluttaw representative U Nay Soe Aung, Sagaing Region Hluttaw representative Daw Khaing Khaing Win, township management committee chairman U Nay Myo Tun and township education officer U Soe Naing cut a ceremonial ribbon to open the arch of the sports competition.

The sports events will be held from 5 to 8 January. A total of 550 schoolchildren from basic education high schools in the township will compete in the sports events such as football, volleyball and track events.

The aim of the inter-schools sports competition is to promote friendship and understandings among schoolchildren, to help develop strong spirits and cooperation habits in them.—Kyaw Myaing (IPRD)
