THE Myanmar national football team will begin training on 23 May in preparation for their second match in the third-round qualifiers of the 2027 AFC Asian Cup, scheduled for June.
Myanmar will face Pakistan on 10 June and will spend around two weeks preparing for the match. Head coach U Myo Hlaing Win will continue to lead the team, which currently consists of over 30 core players. Some players who are currently playing for overseas clubs, as well as a few from the Myanmar U22 national team, will join the squad later. The current squad mainly comprises players selected during the March training camp.
In the third-round qualifiers, Myanmar is grouped with Syria, Afghanistan and Pakistan. In the first-round matches held in March, Myanmar secured a 2-1 victory over Afghanistan, while Syria defeated Pakistan 2-0. — Ko Nyi Lay/KZL
