THE Myanmar national football team departed for Manila, the Philippines, on 10 December to compete in their second Group B match of the 2024 ASEAN Cup against the Philippines national team.

 

The delegation, led by team manager U Tin Myint Aung and head coach U Myo Hlaing Win, includes players such as goal­keepers Zin Nyi Nyi Aung, Pyae Phyo Thu, and San Set Naing; defenders Hein Phyo Win, Thet Hein Soe, Thiha Htet Aung, Nan­da Kyaw, Latt Wai Hpone, Thura Soe, Aung Wunna Soe, and Ye Lint Htet; midfielders Wai Lin Aung, Zaw Win Thein, Myat Kau­ng Khant, Khaing Ye Win, Maung Maung Lwin, Lwin Moe Aung, Thiha Zaw, Aung Naing Win, Ooka Naing, and Ye Yint Aung; and forwards Aung Kaung Mann and Yan Kyaw Htwe. The only change from the 23-player squad that faced Indonesia in the first match is the inclusion of goal­keeper San Set Naing, replacing midfielder Aung Hlaing Win.

 

Myanmar, placed in Group B alongside Vietnam, Indone­sia, the Philippines, and Laos, lost 1-0 to Indonesia in their first group match at Thuwunna Youth Training Centre on 9 December. The upcoming match against the Philippines will take place at Rizal Memorial Stadium in Manila on 12 December at 5 pm Myanmar time. — Ko Nyi Lay/ KZL
