Team Myanmar in Bishkek for World Cup Qualifier against Kyrgyzstan

9 October

PLAYERS and members of the coaching team of the Myanmar national  football  team  are  in  Bishkek City, Kyrgyzstan, and the  team  is  undergoing  spe-cial  training  in  the  city  ahead  of  the  2022  World  Cup  Qual-ifier  against  the  host  team,  Kyrgyzstan,  according  to  the  Myanmar Football Federation.

The  match  between  My-anmar  and  Kyrgyzstan  will  be  held  on  10  October  at  the  Dolen Omurzakov Stadium in Bishkek.

Team  Myanmar  left  for  Bishkek City on 6 October from Yangon  International  Airport,  and currently, the team is train-ing and making strategic prepa-rations  at  the  training  center  at  Bishkek  city.  The  team  is  being  trained  by  members  of  the coaching team, led by head coach Miodrag Radulovic.

There  are  23  outstanding  players on the squad, but two Myanmar football stars —mid-fielder Maung Maung Lwin and striker  Kyaw  Ko  Ko  —  have  been left behind in Yangon as both of them are suffering from knee problems and need to rest for about two weeks, according to the Myanmar Football Fed-eration.

Team  Myanmar  has  met  Kyrgyzstan twice at the group stage  of  the  2017  and  2018  qualifiers  for  the  AFC  Asian  Cup.  In  their  first  meeting  in  2017, Myanmar played to a 2-2 draw  against  Kyrgyzstan,  but  in their second match in 2018, Myanmar suffered a 5-1 loss to Kyrgyzstan.

The upcoming match will be  decisive  for  team  Myan-mar’s  hopes  of  realizing  its  World Cup dream.
