A ceremony to provide cash aids to elderly people, pregnant women and children under two-year old was held at Khaloddae village in Shan-Ywa-Thit, Hpa-an Distirct, Kayin State this morning.
With the aim of improving health of senior citizens in the township, administrators from wards and village-tracts in the township made a domiciliary visit to the homes of elderly people in Minbu (Saku) in Magway Region, and disbursed social pension for senior citizen above 85 years old starting from January 17 this year.
A fire drill, jointly organized by the township Forest Department and Fire Services Department, was conducted in conjunction with a knowledge sharing event about the natural disaster at the compound of Forest Department in the town of Htigyaing, Katha District, Sagaing Region yesterday.
Construction of a home-for-the-aged named, “Shwekyun Hsesar” was 100 percent completed in Hsinbyugyun Township, Magway Region. The facility is set to be launched soon and will accept 20 helpless elderly people in the area, said founder of the home-for-the-aged Medical Superintendent Dr. Kyaw Htet Aung.
