The Department of Rural Development under the Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development, Nay Pyi Taw Union Territory, held a ceremony yesterday in Magyibin Village, Tatkon Township, to disburse Green Village Project revolving funds totalling K38.3 million.
During the event, Township Head of the Department of Rural Development Daw Zin Lin Htet explained that the revolving funds were being provided to help rural residents create employment opportunities, increase household incomes, and systematically expand small-scale agriculture and livestock businesses. She also noted that interest earnings generated from the project would support future village development activities.
Project officials and staff further clarified the loan interest rates, repayment periods, and regulations that beneficiaries must follow. The township head then formally transferred the revolving funds to members of the Green Village Project committee.
Following the ceremony, village project committee members disbursed low-interest loans totalling K38.3 million directly to 80 beneficiaries in Magyibin Village. The recipients included 52 individuals engaged in agricultural activities who received K28.4 million and 28 individuals involved in livestock breeding who received K9.9 million.
According to officials, the revolving fund programme is intended to strengthen rural livelihoods and support sustainable income-generating activities within the community. — Sein Lwin (Rural)
