State and Region Vovinam Tournament 2020 to be held in May

The State and Region Vovinam Tournament 2020 will be held in May, under the supervision of the Myanmar Vovinam Association, according to a statement issued by the association.

The tourney will be held from 17 to 19 May in Nay Pyi Taw.

The two main events of the tourney — Vovinam attacking event and Vovinam display event —will feature competitions in the men’s and women’s categories.

The men’s and women’s events will feature a variety of weight classes.

The men’s Vovinam attacking event will have five weight classes: 51-54 kg, 54-57 kg, 57-60 kg, 60-64 kg, and 64-68 kg.

The women’s Vovinam attacking event will have 51-54 kg, 51-54 kg, 54-57 kg, and 57-60 kg weight classes.

Meanwhile, the Vovinam display event will comprise men’s and women’s singles events (without weapons), men’s and women’s singles events (with weapons), and men’s and women’s mixed events. There will be 11 male athletes, ten female athletes, two administrators, two coaches, and one referee per team, according to the Vovinam association.
