Sri Lanka's total export earnings exceeded 9 billion U.S. dollars in the first half of 2026, rising 8 percent year-on-year, according to data released Wednesday by the Export Development Board (EDB).

Combined merchandise and services exports reached an estimated 9.01 billion dollars from January to June, the EDB said.

Services exports increased 4.49 percent year-on-year to an estimated 1.94 billion dollars during the six-month period.

Sri Lanka's merchandise exports reached 1.31 billion dollars in June, up 15.09 percent from the same month last year, according to provisional customs data and estimated export values for gems and jewelry and petroleum products.

Services exports generated an estimated 344.52 million dollars in June, an increase of 3.75 percent year-on-year.

Total merchandise and services exports reached an estimated 1.66 billion dollars in June, representing year-on-year growth of 12.53 percent, the EDB said.
