SPED-sponsored U-21 men’s football contest opens in Kyaukme

The inter-ward/village U-21 men’s football contest was opened at the people’s sports ground in Kyaukme Township, Northern Shan State on 11 September.


First, Chairman of the township sports and physical education committee U Ye Htut Naing clarified matters relating to the competition. Next, the participating teams took position at designated place and concerned officials cordially greeted the squads. The team representing Ward-1 held to 3-3 draw with the squad representing Ward-8 in the opening match. The football contest is being held in a round robin format with five participating teams and the final match will be held on 22 September.


The event is organized by the Sports and Physical Education Department with the aim of producing outstanding footballers.—IPRD
