AT the invitation of the Interna­tional Buddhist Confederation, Abhidhaja Maha Rattha Guru Si­tagu Sayadaw attended the First Asia Buddhist Summit 2024, held at Asoka Hotel in New Delhi, India, yesterday morning.

 

The purpose of the meeting was to spread the teachings of the Buddha around the world. A total of 1,000 religious leaders, professors, and scholars from more than 30 countries attended the ceremony.

 

Sitagu Sayadaw first opened the ceremony by offering flowers and lighting candles. Afterwards, venerable Sayadaws discussed the recognition of Pali as a clas­sical Indian language. The cer­emony came to an end in the evening. — MNA/TKO
