The MNL reigning champions Shan United have just signed a three-year contract with Myanmar international defender Nyein Chan.

He started his professional career in Rakhine United U21 team in 2014 and he played for Nay Pyi Taw FC first team for half season on loan in 2015. Then, he played in Rakhine United first team towards the end of 2019 season. His contract with Rakhine United expired on the 1st October and now he has joined Shan United.

“I miss and am really thankful to Rakhine United where I played for 6 years. During my contract period with Rakhine United, I played for Nay Pyi Taw for only half season on loan. Now, I’ve joined a new team and I feel really excited for this,” said the five-foot-and-nine-inch tall defender.

The 25-year old defender was selected for Myanmar National Team for the first time in 2019 season and performed his civic duties from that time onwards. He had improved within a short while and got a chance to appear as a first-eleven player in 2022 World Cup Qualifiers held in mid-November.

Recently, the Taunggyi-based club have renewed Maximin’s contract for one more season, signed one-year contracts with Keith Nah, former striker of Ayeyawady United and Yakubu Abubakar, former midfielder of Rakhine United FC.—By Kyaw Htike Soe
