Union Minister for Construction U Han Zaw, Deputy Minister Dr Kyaw Lin, Permanent Secretary U Wint Tint and heads of department looked into the requirements of the undertakings for development of urban and rural roads and bridges, housings and other facilities in eastern and northern Shan State through video conferencing from Nay Pyi Taw.
Director (Civil) of Road Department U Thura Zaw, Deputy Director (Civil) of special team 12 of the Bridge Department U Thant Zin, Director (Civil) of Rural Road Development Department U Win Shein, and Assistant Director of Urban and Housing Development Department U Tin Tun Aung of eastern Shan State presented a power-point report on the progress in implementing the road, bridge, building, urban and housing development projects, maintenance and repair of the existing facilities, budget allotments, financial sources, priority tasks and the requirements in the areas under their responsibility.
Afterwards, the Union Minister and party heard the reports on ongoing projects, progress of work in implementing regional development projects, maintenance and repair undertakings, financial matters, constraints and other issues presented by Director (Civil) of Road Department U Kyaw Kyaw Win, Deputy Director (Civil) of special team 4 of the Bridge Department U Myint Naing Oo, Director (Civil) of Rural Road Development Department U Kyaw Zeya Win, Assistant Director of Urban and Housing Development Department U Khin Maung Win, and Assistant Director of Building Department Daw Aye Khaing Mon of northern Shan State, with the help of audio visual aids.
In response, the Union Minister and the deputy minister expressed the harmonious progress of infrastructures including roads, bridges, housing estates, rural roads and bridges and other facilities in Shan State. They spoke of the need to meet the required standard and quality. Improvement of roads and bridges leads to smooth and swift flow of commodities in the area, they noted. The development projects are being implemented in the interest of the public, they said, and pointed out the need to ensure worksite safety.
