A school upgrading ceremony was held in Yayshin Village, Gangaw Township in Magway Region yesterday morning.
The upgraded school was formally opened by the Amyotha Hluttaw Representative U Phye Lwin, Regional Lawmaker U Aung Hsan Win and an official from the Department of Education by cutting a ceremonial ribbon. Next, the Upper House MP and Deputy Township Administrator U Kyaw Kyaw Tun delivered addresses and Headmistress Daw Hnin Khayay Khaing elaborated historical background of the school.
Afterwards, concerned officials presented certificates of honour to the donors and the abbot of monastery spoke words of thanks. The school was upgraded to a high school (branch) from a middle school.
