School promoted to BEHS in Hsinbaungwe Township

A ceremony to upgrade a basic education high school (branch) to BEHS was held in Zaung Chan Taung Village, Hsinbaungwe Township in Magway Region on Sunday.

 


The upgraded school was formally opened by Regional Chief Minister Dr. Aung Moe Nyo, Speaker of the regional parliament U Tar, Regional Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation U Win Maw Htay, Director of the Department of Education Daw Khin Than Oo and the Pyithu Hluttaw Representative U Nay Htet Win by cutting a ceremonial ribbon. The regional chief minister then pressed a button to open the signboard of the school.

 


Next, speeches by the regional chief minister, regional parliament speaker, regional advocate-general and the Lower House MP for Hsinbaungwe Constituency followed. Afterwards, the director of the Department of Education discussed about educational facts and one of the school’s boards of trustees expressed words of thank before the headmistress presented souvenirs to mark opening the school to departmental heads. The students also performed entertainment to the audiences.

 


The primary school was set up in 1940 and was promoted to middle school in 1968. It became a high school (branch) in 1996 and was upgraded to BEHS in 2019.—Than Naing Oo (Ngaphe)
