Riverbank retaining wall under construction in Twantay

A group of officials inspected work progress on construction of a retaining wall in Twantay Township, Yangon Region this morning.

The group consisting of officials from the Department of Road, the Directorate of Water Resources and Improvement of River Systems, the township municipality and the General Administration Department led by Regional Legislator U Nay Naing Oo looked into construction of a riverbank retaining wall that will prevent some villages along Twantay Canal from increasing floodwaters.

The riverbank retaining wall is being built with Ks. 6 million allocated under the Union Parliament Development Fund and contributed by local people and has now been 80 percent finished.—IPRD
