PYITHU Hluttaw Speaker U Khin Yi, accompanied by Pyithu Hluttaw Deputy Speaker U Maung Maung Ohn and relevant officials, met Rule of Law, Peace and Stability Committee members in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.

 

During the meeting, committee officials briefed the Speaker on their cur­rent work and plans. The Speaker emphasized that strengthening the rule of law and public security is essential for democratic governance and national development, and called for a prompt review of rele­vant laws, closer coordina­tion with ministries and or­ganizations, and stronger parliamentary oversight.

 

He also urged efforts to promote safe cities and communities, enhance the professionalism of law en­forcement agencies, raise public legal awareness, im­prove the judicial system, and strengthen anti-cor­ruption measures.

 

After the meeting, the Speaker greeted commit­tee members and also met representatives of the My­anmar Youth Development Association (Central) and the Ami Myay Thitsa me­dia, who were observing the ongoing Pyithu Hlut­taw session. — MNA/ KTZH
