The Pyidaungsu Hluttaw continued debate in its 13th day meeting yesterday on the articles and sub-articles in the second bill to amend the State Constitution.
MP U Nay Soe Aung from Wuntho constituency discussed the change of Myanmar language wording of ‘the disabled’ in sub-articles (a) and (b) under Article 32 and Article 344. He also suggested to annul Article 338 regarding the command of Defence Services on the armed forces, and Article 339 about the role of Defence Services to lead in safeguarding the Union against all international and external dangers.
MP U Thaung Aye from Pyawbwe constituency objected to the removal of wording ‘disciplined’ from sub-article (d) from the Article 6 in Chapter 1 of the Constitution.
He also opposed deletion of similar wording in Article 7, 39 and sub-article (a) of Article 405, and suggested amendments, annulments and stipulations of Constitution to be done in favour of national interest.
MP Dr Hla Moe from Aungmyethazan constituency supported amendment of sub-article (b) of Article 396 with regard to the recalling measure of Hluttaw representative.
The amendments of sub-articles and articles were also discussed by the other 16 Hluttaw representatives.
The report on second six-months tax revenue of Union Ministries and agencies for 2018-2019 financial year sent by the Union Government and the findings and recommendations (2/2020) of the Joint Public Accounts Committee on the report were discussed.
MP U Sai Tun Aye from Mongshu constituency discussed control for increasing exploitation of natural resources to gain more tax revenue.
MP Daw Nang Htwe Thu from Phasaung constituency supported the recommendations of JPAC to expand the sector for tax collection.
The motion was also discussed by the other six Hluttaw representatives.
Pyidaungsu Hluttaw Speaker U T Khun Myat explained the Hluttaw office’s errors in omission of some words in the amendment bill’s sub-article (k) of Article 262 submitted by Tatmadaw Hluttaw representative Brigadier General Aung San Chit and the correction for excluded words.
He also informed that any confusion in the bill might be directly reported to the Pyidaungsu Hluttaw office.
