Disinfection of public places and religious buildings in Kawthoung, the border town with Thailand, was carried out by spraying of disinfectant yesterday.
A medical team from local No. 13 100-Bed Hospital of the Tatmadaw sprayed disinfectant in three monasteries, two mosques, one church and one Hindu Temple, and public places including jetties and bus terminals. Amid Coronavirus outbreak in Thailand, three border gates between Thailand’s Ranong and Kawthoung have been closed since 20 March. Thai authorities announced that it will suspend the crossing of the goods and the vehicles carrying the persons via border checkpoints until the situation returns to normal. — Kyaw Soe (Kawthoung)
