The opening ceremony of the Public Financial Management Special Refresher Course No 8 was held yesterday at the Public Financial Management Train­ing School of the Ministry of Planning and Finance in Nay Pyi Taw.

 

 

The opening of the course was attended by Deputy Prime Minister Union Minister for Planning and Finance U Win Shein, Union Minister for In­vestment and Foreign Econom­ic Relations Dr Kan Zaw, Union Minister for Legal Affairs and Union Attorney-General Dr Thi Da Oo, Auditor-General Dr Khin Naing Oo, the UCSB chairper­son, the deputy minister, the deputy auditor-general, man­agement members of the Public Finance Management Train­ing School and departmental officials, trainers, and trainees among others.

 

Speaking at the event, the Union minister said the hu­man resources, financial power and natural resources of a na­tion are under limitation, and systematic public financial management can develop and stabilize the existing resourc­es. All-round development in political, economic and social sectors depends on the proper public financial management, so there should be a fine public financial management system and it is necessary to turn out qualified government employ­ees.

 

He then urged the trainees to apply the skills gained from the course in serving their du­ties for the economic growth of the country.

 

A total of 34 director-lev­el officials in charge of the or­ganizations from the ministries and organizations will attend the five-week Public Financial Management special refresher course No 8. — MNA/KTZH
