The opening ceremony of the Public Financial Management Special Refresher Course No 8 was held yesterday at the Public Financial Management Training School of the Ministry of Planning and Finance in Nay Pyi Taw.
The opening of the course was attended by Deputy Prime Minister Union Minister for Planning and Finance U Win Shein, Union Minister for Investment and Foreign Economic Relations Dr Kan Zaw, Union Minister for Legal Affairs and Union Attorney-General Dr Thi Da Oo, Auditor-General Dr Khin Naing Oo, the UCSB chairperson, the deputy minister, the deputy auditor-general, management members of the Public Finance Management Training School and departmental officials, trainers, and trainees among others.
Speaking at the event, the Union minister said the human resources, financial power and natural resources of a nation are under limitation, and systematic public financial management can develop and stabilize the existing resources. All-round development in political, economic and social sectors depends on the proper public financial management, so there should be a fine public financial management system and it is necessary to turn out qualified government employees.
He then urged the trainees to apply the skills gained from the course in serving their duties for the economic growth of the country.
A total of 34 director-level officials in charge of the organizations from the ministries and organizations will attend the five-week Public Financial Management special refresher course No 8. — MNA/KTZH
