Pre-Thadingyut festival: Yangon hosts 20th Yangon International Lifestyle Furniture Fair

The Thousand Islands Business Group launched the 20th Yangon International Lifestyle Furniture Fair on 12 September as part of pre-Thadingyut sales at the Tatmadaw Hall along U Wizaya Road in Yangon.
The venue was crowded with visitors on the first day of the fair, which ends 16 September.


Over 40 companies have set up 198 booths, featuring bamboo, timber, and cane furniture for offices, schools, gardens, and kitchens, and other household goods at the fair. Visitors will be able to buy various kinds of furniture at a fair price in one place, according to the organizers.


At the fair, most companies will hold lucky draws for customers, with prizes including a 32-inch LED TV for customers purchasing goods worth K1 million, a double bed, a single bed, refrigerator, washing machine, air conditioner, among other things.


The fair will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. every day, and entry will be free.


U Tin Maung Tun, the Speaker of the Yangon Region Hluttaw, U Han Tun, the Regional Minister for Agriculture, Livestock, Forestry and Energy, Dr. Myo Thet, the vice president of the Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (UMFCCI), U Saw John Shwe Ba, the Managing Director of Myanma Timber Enterprise, and other officials opened the 20th Yangon International Lifestyle Furniture Fair by cutting the ceremonial ribbon. —Pwint Thitsar (Translated by La Wonn)
