A pre-match press conference was held yesterday at the Pull Man Mandalay Mingalar Hotel in Mandalay, ahead of the 2022 World Cup Qualifiers match be-tween Myanmar and Mongolia.
At the press meet, Antoine Hey, the head coach of the Myanmar national football team, said his team has beaten Kyrgyzstan and would try to gain three points in the match against Mongolia.
“If our team wins the game, we can challenge again in the qualifiers. Our players are confident and ready for the game. The support of our fans is very important for us, and more fans than those who came to the match against Kyrgyzstan are expected to come. We would take the victory together with fans, and pay back the debt of the previous loss,” he added.
Zaw Min Tun, the captain of the Myanmar national foot-ball team, said: “While we won the match against Kyrgyzstan, we are not overconfident. We will try our best to win the match against Mongolia. We have prepared our best to fix weaknesses in our defense.”
Michael Weiss, the head coach of Mongolia national football team, said his team played a friendly match against Cambodia, and is ready to take on Myanmar.
“Despite the weather change, it wouldn’t be a problem. We have played in Yangon two times. It would be a tough match as Myanmar team is better than in the previous matches,” he added.
Norjmoo Tsedenbal, the captain of the Mongolia national football team, said as Myanmar team showed their abilities in the match against Kyrgyzstan, the upcoming match will be an interesting one.
