A pre-match press conference for the AFC U19 Championship 2020 Qualifiers was held yes-terday at the Inya Lake Hotel, according to the Myanmar Foot-ball Federation.
The head coaches of the Myanmar, China PR, South Korea, and Singapore teams attended the press meet.
Speaking at the press meet, U Soe Myat Min, the head coach of team Myanmar, said the opening match against China PR will be a tough one.
“I believe that my players will surely prevail. We will do our best as we play before our fans,” he added.
Cheng Yao Dong, the head coach of the China PR team, said he was glad for getting a chance to participate in the com-petition. He said his team pre-pared for three months for the competition by playing friendly matches.
“All the teams in the group are good. However, the team is not worried and would do the best that they can,” he said.
Chung Jung Yong, the head coach of the South Korea U-19 football team, also said his team was prepared to qualify.
“Some players in the team sustained injuries. It is worry to be worse of the players’ wounds. The team would focus on individual teams to qualify in the qualifiers,” he said.
Mohamed Fadzuhasny Juraimi, the head coach of the Singapore U-19, said he was glad about getting a chance to participate in the competition. He said he faced difficulties in the preparation for the matches as reliable players got injured and some players were sitting for their exams. “Whatever it is, the team will do their best,” he said.
On 6 November, Myanmar will play China PR at 3 pm lo-cal time and South Korea will face Singapore at 6 pm at the Thuwunna Stadium in Yangon.
