Pre-match press meet held for AFC U19 Championship Qualifiers

6 November

A  pre-match  press  conference  for the AFC U19 Championship 2020  Qualifiers  was  held  yes-terday  at  the  Inya  Lake  Hotel,  according to the Myanmar Foot-ball Federation.

The  head  coaches  of  the  Myanmar,  China  PR,  South  Korea,  and  Singapore  teams  attended the press meet.

Speaking at the press meet, U Soe Myat Min, the head coach of team Myanmar, said the opening match against China PR will be a tough one.

“I  believe  that  my  players  will  surely  prevail.  We  will  do  our best as we play before our fans,” he added.

Cheng Yao Dong, the head coach  of  the  China  PR  team,  said  he  was  glad  for  getting  a  chance to participate in the com-petition. He said his team pre-pared for three months for the competition by playing friendly matches.

“All the teams in the group are good. However, the team is not  worried  and  would  do  the  best that they can,” he said.

Chung  Jung  Yong,  the head coach of the South Korea U-19 football team, also said his team was prepared to qualify.

“Some players in the team sustained injuries. It is worry to be worse of the players’ wounds. The  team  would  focus  on  individual  teams  to  qualify  in  the  qualifiers,” he said.

Mohamed   Fadzuhasny   Juraimi, the head coach of the Singapore U-19, said he was glad about  getting  a  chance  to  participate  in  the  competition.  He  said he faced difficulties in the preparation for the matches as reliable players got injured and some  players  were  sitting  for  their exams. “Whatever it is, the team will do their best,” he said.

On 6 November, Myanmar will  play  China  PR  at  3  pm  lo-cal  time  and  South  Korea  will  face  Singapore  at  6  pm  at  the  Thuwunna Stadium in Yangon.
