Drugs and grenades were confiscated from a drug suspect during a house raid in Mohnyin Township, Kachin State on 5 May.
An anti-drug squad raided the house of a suspicious drug smuggler identified as Myint Aye (alias) Zaw Min Tun, 40 years old from Ailaytu Village at about 2:30 p.m. on 5 May. The suspect attacked the police conducting an inspection in search of illicit narcotics with a knife in his house and attempted to flee the scene but later he was arrested. The police discovered two grenades in his bag, 50 stimulant tablets, 25 grams of opium, a bottle containing 0.01 grams of heroin and paraphernalia in the search operation.
A police man was injured in the attack. Action has been taken against the drug suspect over the case by the local police station.—Win Naing
