Police members seize large haul of drugs in Mingaladon Twsp.

Local authorities seized 5.00 million yaba pills worth Ks. 5 million in Mingaladon Township, the northernmost part of Yangon Region on 17 May, according to the Myanmar Police Force.

 

Acting on a tip-off, a combined inspection team consisting of members of Anti-Drug Squad conducted inspections in the home of Zaw Min Soe on Zawtika-3 Road in Thingakyun Ward, Mingladon Township at about 3:30 pm on 17 May and arrested Kyaw Kyaw Aung, Win Tun, Hla Sein Maung, Chit Oo Maung, Zin Min Ko, Lwin Min Htike and Thet Paing Oo with 1.00 million Yaba pills and Ks.15.00 million in the house.

 

As a result of investigation, inspection team raided the house of Kyaw Kyaw Aung in Pale-3 Ward in the Township at night of the same day and seized 4.00 million yaba tablets.

 

Afterwards, inspection team investigated the home of Ma Mi Nge in Zeyathiri Ward in the Town of Myeik at about 10:00 am on 18 May and arrested Ma Mi Nge with Ks. 8.5 million. Then, authorities arrested Pyae Sone and Kyaw Thu with a six-wheeled vehicle and Ks. 4.00 million.

According to investigation, yaba pills were carried by Zaw Min Soe from Shan State to Yangon and sold to Tanintharyi Region and Rakhine State.

 

The authorities filed charges against all suspects under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law.—MNA
