Poem composing competition marks 72nd Independence Day

In order to mark the 72nd Independence Day, the middle school level poem composing competition was held in combination with awards ceremony at the community center in the town of Naung Cho, Naung Cho township, Kyaukme district, Shan state (North) this morning. 

The aim of the competition is to help develop reading ability and reading habits of schoolchildren, said Daw Than Than Htwe, head of the township Information and Public Relations Department. A number of schoolchildren from Basic Education Middle Schools in the township participated in the competition. According to assessments by Judges, first, second, third and consolatory prizes were given to award-wining schoolchildren.  Then, all schoolchildren who took part in the competition were served with nutritious foods.
